Different Strokes

Dan Aquilante of the New York Post reviewed sophomore effort ‘Room on Fire’, claiming “it falls shy of the Strokes’ much-hyped greatness.” Aquilante said, “When you’re one of the most promising, written-about bands around, everything from your next single to the way your lead singer combs his hair gets blown out of proportion. Which is why it’s nice that the sophomore disc from New York’s the Strokes – ‘Room on Fire,’ out today – isn’t a high-gloss affair at all, but appealing in a sloppy, scruffy kind of way.” The full review at nypost.com has since been removed.
