The Panic Channel guitarist and ‘Rock Star: Supernova’ co-host Dave Navarro checked in on his official web site’s blog on Sunday following the taping of the CBS show’s performance taping and reacting to comments on Matt Hoffer’s ouster from his previous posting. “There were a lot of good points brought up on the last post,” Navarro writes. “Last season, Marty DID change up his ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ as did JD with some of his songs. Matt totally could have done the same when it came down to it, but he didn’t … Even though he said he made it more rocking, it just wasn’t. Plus, he was actually told to do something uglier and heavier. So, even though DD isn’t really the worst thing in the world, he chose to ignore direction. The weekly performance songs are given to the contestants to fight over and they pretty much have to make them work, but on eliminations, they can choose whatever they want and perform it however they want. Matt may not have had the weakest performance but he exercised the weakest judgment. The good news for me, is that I am just an outsider’s perspective and give my feedback and comments in order to help these guys get the gig. The same goes for our guest panelists. When it comes down to the elimination, we have nothing to do with that. That call is Supernova’s alone. I may have voted differently, but at the end of the day, I can see where they are coming from.” The full post at 6767.com has since been removed.
