Nine Inch Nails’ Danny Lohner chatted with RollingStone.com about his opportunity of compiling the soundtrack to the new vampire thriller ‘Underworld’. “I’ve been around [NIN frontman] Trent [Reznor] when he’s done ‘Lost Highway’ and ‘Natural Born Killers’, and I thought, ‘I’d love to have a stab at that,'” Lohner said. The disc features David Bowie, Wes Borland, Helmet’s Page Hamilton, Filter’s Richard Patrick, Tool’s Maynard James Keenan and Concrete Blonde’s Johnette Napolitano. “[Director Len Wiseman] was super cool and it turns out his favorite bands were NIN and Tool, so he was right in line with where my head space was,” Lohner says. “The idea was to try and do a cool soundtrack, put some moody stuff in there, some aggressive stuff, and assemble a lot of cool artists that I knew.”
