Coldplay Frontman Says Pop Gurus Are Killing Music
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has blasted the new wave of manufactured pop that he says is “killing music.” Martin told The Sun at the Q Awards, “This whole phenomenon is killing music and it disgusts me. People like Simon Cowell and Simon Fuller should be melted down and turned into glue. They are destroying people’s dreams and ripping them off.” As for the musicians that are developed from the Pop Idol pair, Martin said, “I haven’t anything against people like Gareth Gates and Will Young — they are just the victims in all this. They have no real futures.” The full story at thesun.co.uk has since been removed.
