MTV Asia caught up with Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington and Joe Hahn earlier this year and asked what they’d like to say to other artists who remain aloof or act cold towards their fans… something Linkin Park isn’t known for. “In my opinion, they’re missing out on the best part of what we’re doing — and that’s making music not only for ourselves to enjoy, but for everyone who wants to hear it to enjoy,” Chester said. “And when people embrace the band and become fans of the band, it’s important for that band to show that they appreciate the fans for giving them the opportunity to do what they do. And if you don’t, and you disrespect your fans in any way or you don’t pay any attention to them, you’re really just shooting yourself in the foot because you’re biting the hand that feeds you. You need to respect your fans and admire your fans for allowing you to do what you want to do with your life.”
