Kid Rock Says Celebrities Should Stay Quiet About Politics
Kid Rock spoke with CMT Insider about his belief celebrities should stay out of sharing their opinion about political matters. “I truly believe that people like myself, who are in a position of entertainers in the limelight, should keep their mouth shut on politics,” the Detroit rocker said. “Because at the end of the day, let me tell you what I ‘m good at: I’m good at writing songs and singing. What I’m not educated in is the field of political science. And so for me to be sharing my views and influencing people of who I think they should be voting for … I think would be very irresponsible on my part. So I’ll just keep my mouth shut on that. I think celebrity endorsements hurt politicians. Because as soon as somebody comes out for a politician, especially in Hollywood, when they all go, ‘I’m voting for this guy!’ — I go, ‘That’s not who I’m voting for!’ … As soon as Oprah Winfrey pops up and goes ‘Ha-la-la-la-la,’ I’m like, ‘I love Barrack Obama. I hate Oprah Winfrey.’ I don’t hate her. I just don’t believe in her, so I don’t want any part of any of that. I think celebrities hurt politicians.” Check out the full story here.
Dave Navarro And His Friend Todd Argue About Cigarettes
Dave Navarro and his buddy Todd went to People’s Court Raw to try and settle their non legal dispute, which the former Jane’s Addiction guitarist explains centers around Dave being annoyed with Todd always going to a supermarket to get cigarettes instead of a convenience store. Todd argued that because he smokes soft pack cigarettes and the packaging is part of his image, he goes to the supermarket because convenience stores usually only have hard packs. He added that most of the time Dave isn’t in the car with him so it’s not like he has to wait for him to buy the smokes anyways. Watch their arguments at peoplescourtraw.com.
Liam Gallagher Adding Spongebob Squarepants Portrait To His Collection
The Sun reports Liam Gallagher has commissioned an artist to paint him a massive portrait of Spongebob Squarepants to be placed in the Oasis frontman’s living room alongside images of Elvis and Jimi Hendrix. “SpongeBob is a fu**ing mental, full-of-beans, enthusiastic sponge that lives at the bottom of the sea in Bikini Bottom. He’s mad for it,” Liam explained. “He’s got a mate called Squidward, who plays the clarinet and is grumpy like our kid Noel. I’m having a huge painting done at the minute, a proper Andy Warhol-style portrait of SpongeBob. He’ll be facing Elvis and Hendrix in the living room.”

Mystery Jets’ Blaine Harrison Blogs From The Hospital
Mystery Jets frontman Blaine Harrison checked in with fans on the British indie rock group’s MySpace page, offering an update on his hospitilization due to Spina Bifida complications. Blaine writes:
As you may very well have noticed by now, we recently announced the cancelation of our appearances at several UK and european festivals due to illness. I wanted to make the point that there are genuine reasons for us deciding to do so, and also that these were all dates which we had been looking very forward to playing for some time.
I am sat in hospital writing this from my bed, which is where I have been for the past 7 days, and indeed will probably be for seven or so more. The food is rotten and my neighboring inpatient frequently soils his sheets, but I guess things could be worse. The reason I am here is due to pressure sores on my feet, which are common among people who suffer from my disability. They come and go. But having pretty much caned it since we stared touring the record at the beginning of march, my body finally gave in on our recent trip to play at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, where I came off stage and felt the most horrendous fever take over my body. one 15-hour flight later and I came off the plane and straight to A&E where the doctor (a stern Polish madam) put me straight on a ward, and advised, to my horror, that I kiss goodbye to any plans I had for the coming 2 or 3 weeks.

Pete Wentz Prepares To Become A Father
As Pete Wentz prepares to become a father, the Fall Out Boy bassist spoke with People magazine about what his father told him he should prepare for. “The best advice my dad has given me was, go with your gut,” Wentz said at his Angels & King nightspot in Chicago. “And he said you can’t really have expectations. If I have expectations that he’s going to be a rock star, I’m sure he’ll come out being into sports, and if I have expectations that he’ll be into sports then he’ll be into math or something.” Read more.

Chris Martin Defends Giving Kids Unusual Baby Names
Coldplay singer Chris Martin is speaking out to Blender magazine about he and wife Gwyneth Paltrow’s decision to name their son Moses and daughter Apple after a reader suggested (sarcastically?) she and her husband were having their first baby and thinking of naming it Papaya, Chewbacca and Sandal. “People make a big fuss over names,” the 31-year-old said. “Names of babies, names of albums, names of bands. There’s nothing weird about calling your baby Chewbacca if that’s what you want to call your baby. It’s no stranger than Sarah.” Martin added, “A name is just a noise, and if you like it, then fu** what everyone else says.” Listen to all the responses at Blender.com.
Pete Wentz Talks To Unborn Baby All The Time
Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz is practicing the advice Armin Brott offers in her book on parenthood, talking with his first baby still residing in wife Ashlee Simpson’s womb. “I talk to it all the time,” Wentz told People on Saturday (July 5) at the Ultimate Fighting Championship 86 afterparty in Las Vegas. “‘The Expectant Father’ tells you that the woman, when she speaks, the baby hears her all the time. And the father’s voice isn’t familiar unless you talk to it, so I talk to it all the time.” Read more.
