Bono’s Lobbying Helps Gain $5 Bil For World Poverty

Bono visited the White House on Thursday where he helped to get President Bush to sign off on a $5 billion pledge to fight world poverty. Bush hailed Bono in his speech, saying he’s such a good anti-poverty lobbyist that “Dick Cheney walked into the Oval Office and said [arch conservative Sen.] ‘Jesse Helms wants us to listen to Bono’s idea.'”
