Bono Getting Less Criticsm For Preaching Post 9.11
Rick DeYampert of the Daytona Beach News Journal reports that unlike the past, U2 frontman Bono’s recent lobbying world leaders, and preaching like everyone else has no social conscience, hasn’t brought criticism from his detractors. “Aside from the occasional political cartoon, I’m witnessing fewer jabs at St. Bono these days,” he said. “The obvious reason, I imagine, is that we’re all a bit weary after the events of last September. Maybe we realize we have to save our cynicism for matters that truly deserve it, and a rock star who babbles about making the world a better place is now a quaint notion rather than an object for scorn.”
