Bono and Bob Geldof teamed up with EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso to present a new plan to give $1.5 billion in aid to African farmers, helping buy fertilizer and seeds. The three spoke with the press about the plan. “One of the criticisms of Europe is that it can’t move quickly, it’s too beuraucratic, and it’s death to the demands of innovation and what’s happening in the rest of the world,” the U2 singer explained. “Well I think President Barroso is not like that at all.
