Bon Jovi Is Still A Triumph Of Style Over Substance
Josh Bell of Las Vegas Weekly reviewed Bon Jovi’s set at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on April 19th. He writes, “Despite Bon Jovi’s efforts to turn himself into a latter-day Springsteen, his band is still a triumph of style over substance. Anthems like ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’ and ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’ (both delivered with intensity to a screaming crowd) are about as deep as the average Backstreet Boys song, and probably better for it. Whenever Bon Jovi try for meaningful (the aforementioned 9/11 tribute), it just comes off as silly. Luckily, they know what their fans want and are happy to deliver.” Lasvegasweekly.com has since removed the article.
