Blues In A Hard Place

Jim Farber of the New York Daily News spoke with about their new album ‘Honkin’ on Bobo’, due out Tuesday (March 23), which will be the group’s first all-blues album. “We’re not out to educate people about the blues. We’re not blues crusaders and we’re not a blues band,” guitarist Joe Perry emphasized. Frontman Steven Tyler added, “We know that all [the critics] are just waiting to say, ‘This doesn’t sound like a blues record’.” They say ‘Bobo’ is modeled after the English reinterpretation of American blues in the ’60s by bands like the Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and the Yardbirds.
