Bloc Party Bassist Doesn’t Feel The Hype

Bloc Party bass player Gordon Moakes tells Australia’s Time Off magazine that the band are determined not to let the spotlight that’s been on them get the better of the band. “It’s odd to think what people outside seem to make of us,” Moakes admitted. “People who look at pictures of us must start imagining some world that we’ve built between the four of us. But if I look at pictures it just looks like the same four people sat in a room or on a street corner, doing what we’ve always done [and] having the same attitude to everything as always. I think we just try and keep that in mind, really. We’ve gotten busier and the way we are treated has changed, but outside of that I don’t feel it.”
