Behemoth frontman Adam ‘Nergal’ Darski spoke with Time Off magazine about the band’s fight with conservatives in the Polish government that tried to get the band banned in their home country before recently losing power. “They considered us to be very dangerous to the youth, so they wanted us to be forbidden and illegal,” he explained. “It was very abstract, because it was all against the most basic democratic rules, so I never really believed that it would happen, but they tried their best. As a result of their efforts, we did this Polish tour in September, and it was our most successful, almost fully sold-out tour ever! It was our best tour ever – it’s unheard of that a band like ours pulls so many people to shows in these times in our country. So they really did a great promotion for us, and I thank them!” The article at timeoff.com.au has since been removed.
