Audioslave Casts Away Politics With Cornell
Before Audioslave’s album was released, there was some trepidation about the former Rage Against the Machine members abandoning politics, and non-political Chris Cornell, formerly of Soundgarden, hooking up with a bunch of lefties. But the first slamming notes of ‘Cochise,’ the band’s debut single, wiped away all doubts. Cornell tells the Seattle Times he was nervous before that. “I have absolutely no objectivity on how anything will be received by anybody ever,” he said. “I don’t watch TV. I don’t listen to the radio. I’m not hooked up to any kind of media culture. I don’t surf the Net. I think it’s boring. I just do what I do, and we did what we did, and we just hoped that it would connect.” Seattletimes.nwsource.com has since removed the article.
