Jay: Kid rock!
[ Cheers and applause ] Have a seat. Nice job. This kind of looks like
every kind of white guy available.
[ Laughter ] This is like the full spectrum of white guys available.
Here, you got it right here. Hey, how you been? Now what is this -- you
did a christmas special? Was it vh1?
Kid Rock: Yeah, vh1, 90-minute christmas special in december. It's a
"kid rock christmas."
Jay: "Kid rock" -- now what is a kid rock christmas? I don't even know
what that would be.
Kid Rock: It'd probably -- actually goes hand in hand with billy bob's
movie.
[ Laughter ]
Jay: I mean, did you decorate? Is it at your house? Where did you do
it? Did you do --
Kid Rock: Oh, yes, absolutely, jay. I hung the lights.
Jay: Yeah, really? Really? Dinner with the family?
Kid Rock: No, actually, yeah. It's good. There's a lot of music, and
we did a concert.
Jay: Right.
Kid Rock: Cooked some dinner, had an eclectic christmas dinner.
Jay: "Eclectic"?
Kid Rock: Eclectic gathering of folks and friends, like hank jr.
Jay: Oh, okay.
Kid Rock: Like leann rimes and jesse james.
Jay: Cool.
Kid Rock: And dre from "the sopranos" and of course, you know, family
and friends and whatnot.
Jay: Yeah. Did you cook? Did you actually make the --
Kid Rock: Hank brought a turkey that he shot down in tennessee, and
we deep-fried it.
[ Laughter ]
Jay: Deep-fried, I -- I guess you wanted to go the healthiest way possible.
Well, what do you need? About 50 gallons of -- how do you --
Kid Rock: Three, four gallons of peanut oil, a deep fryer, I'm telling
you, it's the best bird you ever had.
Jay: Really? Really?
Kid Rock: People -- people like them down there in the south. They're
goin', "mm-hmm."
[ Laughter ] And we had a nice christmas rendition that -- "kid rock,
can you come up with a christmas song?" "Yeah." So we came up with "frosty
the blowman."
Jay: "Frosty the blowman." Well, that's --
[ Cheers and applause ] All right.
Kid Rock: Anyone over the age of 14 is sure to enjoy the special.
Jay: Yeah? Yeah, okay. I guess it's new year's in leavenworth or something.
Yeah, probably. Now what's this bike trip? I see this in "men's journal."
You and jesse --
Kid Rock: Yeah, me and jesse built me a bike. And, oh, what a beautiful
bike. And we went down to mexico.
Jay: Yeah?
Kid Rock: And he taped it for -- I don't know if it's gonna be a movie
or a special on tv or whatnot, but we had a lot of fun.
Jay: Okay.
Kid Rock: Had the federales with us, shot ar-14s at propane tanks in
the desert.
Jay: So you had a responsible holiday?
Kid Rock: Yeah.
[ Laughter ]
Jay: Went to another country and blew up propane tanks. Well, that's
why americans are loved around the world.
[ Light laughter ] Well, this is the new cd right here. Rock, very good,
nice job. I like the new stuff you've been doin' lately.
Kid Rock: Thank you.
Jay: It's terrific. Kid rock.
