Eddie Fournier of the Boston Globe chatted with Everclear frontman Art Alexakis and asked him about the infamous Drew Bledsoe incident, where the then New England Patriot quarterback stage dove during the band’s performance at the Paradise. He said, “I’m kind of tired of talking about it, but the thing is, I was playing on stage, and all of a sudden these three huge men walk out on stage drunk and then jump off the stage on top of a bunch of kids. That cost me $100,000, and I had nothing to do with it. The city of Boston had nothing to do with it. It was these guys, and they just made bad decisions. But they’re multi-millionaire football players, and now that girl’s got a broken vertebra in her back, and it was just a horrible experience.” Boston.com has since removed the article.
