Andrew W.K. And Tommy Lee Flop In The Charts
Jim Farber of the New York Daily News profiled how both Andrew W.K. and former Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee have failed in efforts to sell any albums. Farber said of Andrew, “Reading about a musician, or even hearing his song once on TV, is not the same as steady radio play. And Andrew never got it. If he were mainly a live act, there might have been some wiggle room here. But we’re talking about a guy whose forte is producing records that have the high-concept/lowbrow appeal of Gary Glitter’s hits. While they were intended for stadiums, right now they could barely fill a bar.” The full article at nydailynews.com has since been removed or relocated.
