Amy Lee Sets Evanescence Apart From Tourmates

Blair R. Fischer of the Chicago Tribune reviewed Evanescence show at Chicago’s Congress Theatre on Tuesday night (August 12). Fischer says, “Despite only two albums to its credit, the Little Rock, Arkansas band was treated to a hero’s welcome by the close-to-capacity crowd. Singer Amy Lee—the lone instrument separating the group from a glut of nebulous alt-metal acts—was on her game throughout the band’s 55-minute set. Her gorgeous, soaring vocals made one forget the plodding nu-metal rhythms she was wailing over.” Chicagotribune.com has since removed the article.
