Alice In Chains Won’t Seek Layne Clone For Upcoming Shows

Scott Cronick of the Press of Atlantic City recently conducted an interview with Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell and bassist Mike Inez, asking the guys who will be handling lead vocals at upcoming shows as the band comes back after the loss of singer Layne Staley. “It’s important not to have some Layne clone,” Cantrell said. “We want someone to be able to do their own thing but fit in with what we do.” Inez added, “We haven’t decided on on one guy. Maybe it won’t be just one guy, but maybe friends and people we respect to get different takes on what we do. Maybe we’ll want to get as many people involved as possible without making it too much of a circus.”
