AFI Isn’t A Punk Band

Jason Bracelin of the Cleveland Scene has learned not to call AFI a punk band. “We’re not a punk band, and we don’t consider ourselves a punk band,” clarifies AFI guitarist Jade Puget. “When I first started listening to punk, it was a narrowly defined style of music — it was obvious what was punk and what wasn’t. But now people slap that label on anything that comes along, so it’s not something that we even worry about.”
