Corey Taylor Loves That Paul Gray Is Finally Getting Appreciated
Slipknot’s Corey Taylor talked with ITN about receiving the Kerrang! Services to Metal Award on behalf of his late bandmate Paul Gray. “I love the fact that he’s finally, honestly being appreciated,” Taylor said. “I know sometimes he felt like he didn’t get the attention he deserved. For me, I just want the world to know what he meant to the band, who he was in the band, and just how much he contributed to the band.”

Corey Taylor talked with NME about the future of Slipknot following the death of bassist Paul Gray. “As far as the future, it’s really too soon to tell,” he said. “None of us can even fathom what to do yet, but as soon as we do, the world will be the first to know. It’s not that we don’t want to, it’s just like how do you do what makes sense when such a big piece of that puzzle is gone.”
Murderdolls Get Serious For ‘Women And Children Last’
Murderdolls’ Wednesday 13 and Joey Jordison joined the Kerrang! Podcast to talk about their new album ‘Women And Children Last’ and revealed they think of the new ‘Twilight’ movie. “Right now we’re way more focused. There’s more sense of the direction of the band,” Joey said. “When I was talking to Wednesday about doing the band I said this can’t be half-assed. This has to be serious… The fun element of the band is still there, but people will be pleasantly surprised with what we’ve created with this record. Paul Gray Of Slipknot Found Dead In Iowa Hotel Room
The Des Moines Register reports Slipknot member Paul Gray was found dead in an Iowa hotel room on Monday morning (May 24), discovered by an employee of TownePlace Suites. The Urbandale Police Department found no signs of foul play. Gray was 38.
Gray and his wife, Brenna, were expecting a child, according to friends of the bassist. “Paul had a lot going for him, and a lot coming,” KAZR-FM (103.3) music director Andy Hall told the newspaper. “I know he was excited about being a dad. It makes an already extremely difficult situation more unthinkable.”

Corey Taylor Did Demos With Velvet Revolver, But It Didn’t Work Out
Corey Taylor breaks his silence on what really happened when it comes to the rumor he’d join Velvet Revolver. “I had a meeting with those guys,” the Slipknot/Stone Sour singer told Altitude TV. “We did some demos together and it just didn’t work for whatever reason. It was just really cool. It was just one of those things where I got to jam with legends. It was cool. I still know those guys. I still hang out with them. I’ve got nothing but respect.”

Coheed And Cambria Backstage At Lollapalooza 2009
Ryan Manno of Chicago’s Q101 interviewed Coheed and Cambria at Lollapalooza 2009 last weekend. The guys talked about work on a new album which is pretty hush, their recording process, for the most part getting a positive reception from fans touring with Slipknot after altering their setlist a bit, and the station’s listeners viewing the band as underrated. Slipknot Announce 10th Anniversary Special Edition Box Set
Slipknot posted a YouTube clip announcing plans for their 10th Anniversary Special Edition of their self titled release. The box set will include the first album, “a bunch of deep cuts from the vault”, a DVD which features footage of the band in 1999 and 2000 and “a bunch of secrets.” Watch the video below.
