Asked by MuchMusic about 30 Seconds To Mars’ ultimate intentions, singer Jared Leto responds, “[Our] music demands that it be presented in a way that’s not typical and mundane. It’s something that’s spontaneous and unpredictable and at the same time an exciting and visual assault. We went to see bands like that when we were kids and I think more often than not these days, you go to see a show and you’re left a little empty. People would rather play video games, to be honest. I look forward to the day that shoegazing indie rock stays in a bar where it belongs. I look forward to a time when bands can take it to another level again.”
