Imagine Dragons ‘It’s Time’ Video

are out with the music video to their new single ‘It’s Time’, off the Las Vegas, Nevada indie rock group’s latest EP ‘Continued Silence’, released in February on Interscope/KIDinaKORNER.

“Any time I hear music, I also see visuals in my mind,” Imagine Dragons singer Dan Reynolds said about the video, which was shot on a dry lake bed in Barstow, California. “‘It’s Time’ is an emotional song that was written at a very transitional period of my life. I’ve always loved conceptual videos that leave room for the viewer room to interpret it in a way that is most personal to them. That is what we tried to do with this video. The director had a great vision for representing the song’s meaning in a subtle way. We wanted the video to be cinematic and true to the song.”

I Was A Hero Releases Debut EP ‘Youth And Defeat’

I Was A Hero

I Was A Hero has released its debut EP ‘Youth and Defeat’ on Bandcamp for pay-what-you-want. Proceeds from the EP will go to the Albany, New York band’s budget to independently release a vinyl pressing of ‘Youth and Defeat’.

Recorded at Black Dog Recording Studio in Stillwater, New York with Carl Blackwood, the entirety of ‘Youth and Defeat’ was tracked over the course of only 30 hours in three visits. “We think we owe it to the world to show what we really bring to the table, especially for our first release,” vocalist Brandon Pagano said of the stripped-down recording sessions. “There’s very little editing done to the drums,” he continues. “Every hit you hear is real, and most people will be able to tell. There is no form of pitch correction on the vocals.”

These songs, according to the band, are the first “real” ‘I Was A Hero’ songs ever. Past, demo-quality releases were written before this band was formed. ‘Youth and Defeat’ is a debut release.

Chad Gilbert To Release New 7″ ‘The Nashville Session’ June 19th

Chad Gilbert / What's Eating Gilbert

guitarist Chad Gilbert will release a new 7″ under his What’s Eating Gilbert project on June 19th via Paper + Plastick Records. The two-song 7″, entitled ‘The Nashville Session’, is the fourth release from What’s Eating Gilbert.

‘The Nashville Session’, which will be released in digital and vinyl formats, was produced by Chad Gilbert and Jon Howard at The Anchor Room in Nashville, Tennessee. It follows up three What’s Eating Gilbert releases, the ‘Thinking ‘Bout Her’, ‘Dear God’ and ‘What I’d Do’ EPs on Epitaph Records. The Nashville Session is the first What’s Eating Gilbert release since late 2010.

‘The Nashville Session’ features the characteristic ’50s-style pop sounds of the What’s Eating Gilbert discography and infusing a pop-punk tilt from Gilbert’s career with New Found Glory. The more uptempo ‘The One’ complements the swingy vibe of ‘Lonely Road’. The latter of the two songs is an introspective look into Gilbert’s thoughts about tour life, following his pattern of introducing personal experience into What’s Eating Gilbert songs.

Miasmal Sign With Century Media Records

Miasmal

Miasmal have signed with Century Media, capitalizing on the growing fan base the Gothenburg-based band garnered with their previously released EP and studio album. Philipp Schulte, A&R at Century Media Records, commented:

We are very happy about the signing of Miasmal. The current death metal underground scene is offering many excellent new and promising bands, but only a few have that certain edge that makes you feel there is much more to come. It’s the combination of their music, style and attitude that makes Miasmal simply outstanding. When I listened to tracks like ‘Kallocain’, ‘Toxic Breed’ or the epic ‘Chronicles’ for the first time, I felt this band has a spirit most other bands are lacking.

Miasmal frontman Pontus Redig added:

We are happy to announce that we just signed a deal with Century Media! As fans of many of the label’s releases and bands, we feel that we are in good company. The new cooperation offers lots of opportunities for the making of our next record which is something we are very excited about. We’ve just begun the writing process and plan to head to the studio during the winter to immortalize our 2nd album and Century Media debut.

Miasmal is currently on tour in Europe to promote their latest studio album. Tour dates are as follows:
May 13 – Germany, Berlin at Koma F
May 15 – Germany, Göttingen at Juzi
May 16 – Germany, Koblenz at SK 2
May 17 – Germany, Bielefeld at AJZ
May 18 – Holland, Venlo at Slow End Fest
May 19 – Belgium, Liège
May 20 – France, Bordeaux at Heretic Club
May 21 – France, Toulouse at La Dernière Chance Bar
May 22 – Spain, San Sebastian
May 23 – Spain, Zaragoza at Mogambo
May 24 – Spain, Barcelona at Los Bloques
July 19-21 – Hell’s Pleaseure Fest
